A Letter from Albert & Meegee
We are a fun-loving and financially stable family who loves God. We are excited to adopt again!
Our weekly activities include going to church, exploring children’s activities, and swimming lessons with our son, Samuel. We also enjoy trips with family and friends, and watching movies, musicals, plays and concerts. We love exploring and sampling different types of cuisines. We volunteer for several non-profit community groups and Christian organizations. Most importantly, we love what we do.
About Us
We have been happily married for over ten years. We struggled with infertility and knew our path to having children is through adoption. We went through the adoption training process, learning about fostering and international and domestic adoption. After many prayers, we decided to focus on domestic adoption.
Through Lifetime Adoption, we were blessed with adopting our son, Samuel, in 2022 with a wonderful birth mother. Samuel is now an active, rambunctious young toddler and we cherish every moment with him.
We celebrate festive occasions like the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chinese New Year, and Easter. On those occasions, we have family gatherings where we play games and enjoy bountiful meals cooked by Meegee. After Thanksgiving, we decorate our house with Christmas decorations, Meegee bakes her delicious Christmas cookies, and we decorate gingerbread houses.
About Albert
According to Meegee: Albert is a gentle, supportive, and kind husband. He enjoys hobbies such as building LEGO projects and playing board games with friends. He is patient with teaching our son, nephew, and friends’ children. He enjoys reading books, writing stories, taking part in filmmaking, playing volleyball, solving creative challenges, and practicing martial arts.
Albert faces life challenges with a positive attitude and faith. His friends admire his encouragement, generosity, and faithfulness. He is a mentor to his coworkers, friends, and family. He is comfortable with math and technologies. He looks forward to teaching our children all about LEGOs, games, and life lessons.
About Meegee
According to Albert: Meegee is caring and an encourager. She volunteers to teach and take care of young children during Bible studies at our church. Meegee likes to stay active with Zumba classes and swimming. She enjoys decorating cakes, flower crafts, baking, and cooking traditional holiday and international dishes. She is currently enjoying taking care of Samuel.
Meegee believes traveling is one of the best “teachers” in life lessons and instilling an appreciation of others. She caught the traveling bug and the love for different cultures from her dad when she was just a baby! Meegee is excited to pass her father’s life lessons and her creative skills on to our children.
Our Family
We adopted Samuel at birth in 2022. We were there to witness and participate in his delivery. That was a true blessing for us. We enjoy parenting and participating in Samuel’s upbringing. Samuel loves to play with cars, soft toys, and reading with us. His favorite words are “car-car” and “eat.” His favorite song is “Wheels on the Bus.”
Albert comes from a large extended family with lots of cousins through the U.S, Canada, and Malaysia. Albert’s sister and her family live an hour away from our Florida home and visit us often. Meegee has two younger brothers, and their families live in Malaysia. She makes an effort to keep in touch and visit with her family and friends globally.
This past summer we vacationed to Scotland and England with Albert’s sister and her son. We enjoyed visiting historical places, sampled British and Malaysian cuisine, and learned about British history and culture.
We are very close to our families and have received lots of encouragement and support during our adoption journey. Our families, especially Albert’s sister and her family, lend us a helping hand with Samuel by babysitting and caring for him.
Our Homes in Minnesota & Florida
Our 4-bedroom home in Minnesota is in a young, growing community in a cul-de-sac surrounded by families with young kids. One of our rooms has been converted to a playroom and quiet time for Samuel. Our three-season porch with a deck is our invitation to friends for barbecue and picnics. We are located on a quiet street filled with bicycle/walking trails and friendly families. Our local school system rates highest in the state and our house is within walking distance to playgrounds and a county park that has everything from swimming and boating areas to hiking trails and open fields.
In Florida we have a 5-bedroom home in a gated community and a good school district. We are also surrounded there with playgrounds, parks, and walking trails, and within driving distance to many museums and swim schools.
Albert works remotely from both homes. This gives us the flexibility to spend winter and spring in Florida, and then summer and fall in Minnesota. We enjoy sharing our time, homes, and lives with our family and close friends. We occasionally get visits at our Florida home from family and friends, who enjoy the warm weather with us and escape the cold winters.
Our Promise
We promise to love your child unconditionally. We also promise to provide a safe and nurturing place for him or her to grow up. We will guide and support your child to achieve his or her highest potential. We want your child to know his/her story and identity through immersion in culture and heritage. We will instill character, positive values, and responsibility through life lessons. We are open to future contact through letters, pictures, videos, and occasional visits and look forward to walking through this adoption path with you.
