A Letter from Abe & Steph
Hello from our mini-farm in Pennsylvania! We’re a happy, active, financially stable family of three who loves adventure outside, watching college football, and home cooked meals together. We have a strong Christian faith and care deeply about our family and friends. We met on a blind date through a mutual friend. Now happily married for 7 years, we love being parents and are so excited to grow our family through adoption!
We’ve felt called to adopt a child ever since we dated and believe adoption is truly beautiful. It would be amazing to get to know you and hear what you want for your child’s life. We welcome an open adoption relationship with you too, if that is what you want.
About Us
Our family loves to be outside! As parents we are excited to share our love for gardening, nature, and animals with our children.
Together we enjoy:
• Kayaking on the river
• Hiking in the woods
• Going for drives to find new ice cream spots
• Off-roading in the side-by-side
• Helping with youth ministry at our church
• Splashing in the creek
• Hosting backyard picnics
• Traveling to explore national parks across the U.S.
• Playing volleyball
About Steph
I love being a stay-at-home mom! Before I had our son, I got my Master’s Degree in organizational development and worked for a college. I loved working in education, so it’s been fun to help Thad learn and discover!
Abe says: Steph is selfless, kind, calm, and encouraging. She has a gentle spirit and makes sure our son knows he is loved and valued.
Steph likes:
• Kayaking
• Dancing (especially The Wobble!)
• Sports
• Canning vegetables & jelly
• Coaching field hockey for the high school
• Reading her favorite books from childhood (like Little House on the Prairie or Chronicles of Narnia)
About Abe
I’m a self-employed forester and run a small trucking company. I love working outside and having flexibility for my family and special events.
Steph says: Abe is good-natured, easy-going, kind, and works hard to provide for our family. He’s always positive, can talk with anyone, and looks for the good. Abe is a supportive dad who takes time for games and activities with Thad (and he can make our son laugh like no one else can!).
Abe likes:
• Playing electric, acoustic, & bass guitar
• Leading worship at church
• Hunting & archery
• Finding deals at public auctions
• Going to local fairs and festivals
• Time at the family cabin
• Attending concerts (big fan of 90’s country!)
Our Son
Thad is a happy, curious little boy who loves animals, running or jumping, and anything with wheels or about farming. When we were pregnant there were complications and we were told he wouldn’t survive. His life is a miracle! Thad is deaf on one side, but he does well for his hearing loss. He will be a kind and protective big brother and is already practicing with his stuffed animals by sharing snacks and tucking them in bed.
Our Home in Pennsylvania
We live on a small farm-ette in a rural area in a small agricultural community. It’s very family oriented here, with 5 playgrounds nearby and a great farmer’s market for produce and live music. We enjoy time on the river and off-roading in the state parks.
Every year, from spring to fall, we raise a couple beef cows for market. We treat each steer with affection and look forward to teaching our children about responsibility and caring for animals.
Highlights about our home:
• Restored and fully transformed barn from the late 1800’s
• 4 bedrooms, a large kitchen, and an open layout
• The nursery is ready to welcome another child
• Acres of woods, a small creek, fruit trees, and space for a garden
• Quiet and peaceful
• Lots of room to explore and play

| Extended Family | Abe comes from a big family and Steph has one sibling. Together we have 10 nieces and nephews and all of our family lives within driving distance. We see our families at least once a week and love getting together for holidays, birthdays, and football games! Everyone is excited to welcome the child we adopt. | |
